Meet Gina

Dedicated to Windsor
Gina Fortino Dickson has lived in Windsor for the past 10 years, raising her family and remaining involved in our community along the way.
She worked for the Sonoma County Office of Education (SCOE) as a Grant Director not long after moving to Windsor, managing a $15 million grant for career technical education programs, before doing grant work for the Committee on the Shelterless (COTS) and Sonoma County Community Development Commission.
After the Tubbs Fire, Gina was a grant manager for the Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management – and was in the county’s Emergency Operations Center when the decision was made to evacuate Windsor during the Kincade Fire. The moment is one Gina will never forget – her son, then in high school, was home when the call was made, while her husband, an inspector for Caltrans, was working to keep roads open during emergency evacuations.
Gina’s work in the Department of Emergency Management was an inflection point in her life – she knew Windsor residents were at-risk, but in the fire’s aftermath, which resulted in no loss of life and no homes lost in Windsor, brought our community together like never before.
After the pandemic, Gina transitioned to private law practice – most recently representing plaintiffs in the case against the Former Mayor of Windsor. She took on Dominic Foppoli in civil court – and won – ensuring accountability and justice for those affected. This win is a broader reflection of Gina’s leadership style…she wants our leaders to be transparent and hold themselves to the highest standards of conduct.
In addition to her professional career, Gina has been passionate about community service, including leadership over the past decade serving as a:
-
Windsor Planning Commissioner
-
Windsor Parks and Recreation Commissioner
-
Commissioner (and current Chair) for the Sonoma County Commission on the Status of Women
-
Member of the Sonoma County Child Care Planning Council
-
Member of the Leadership Windsor Steering Committee
Gina lives in the Deer Creek subdivision near Cali Calmécac Language Academy. She and her husband, Mike, have two adult children: Nikolas, who is stationed in Upstate New York with the U.S. Navy, and Natalya, an Esthetician.
